Tamagi Annual UK Gathering 2008

For the second year running Tamagi Annual UK Gathering was held at the same venue as last year at Frimley Green in Camberley on Saturday 12 July 2008.  As expected, all Tamgians as well as "richami & mohmai" and their children were in a quite exuberant mood to see friends and families on this annual gathering.  Everyone was fully geared up to make this event as successful as possibly can by taking full and active part.  This was of no surprise that ladies, youths and even children were seen working hand in hand to make this event not only successful but also a memorable and enjoyable one.  It was nice to see everyone mingling around with each other exchanging views and knowledge to fill the void.

Everyone was a little too worried about the weather.  However, it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day with occasional light showers.  In fact, the light showers seemed to work in our favour by making the heat of less intense to all of us.

This year we had Mrs Harikumari Gurung (wife of late Captain Balbahadur Gurung IDSM), Mr Hem Gurung and Mr Narendra Gurung coming over all the way from Nepal, Norway and Dubai respectively to attend our annual gathering.  This just proves that they have heart of gold, and they love and care Tamagi.

The Farnborough Annual Air Show also enhanced this year’s gathering, as the aircrafts taking part in the air show were flying very low to where we were actually having our barbecue.  In fact, the huge aircrafts were literally flying right above our heads thereby enabling us to have a closer view of all the different types of aircrafts taking part in the air show.  This was majestic!

This year's gathering was once again proved to be a very successful one.  This could not have been possible without the hard work put out by some of the members, which were quite inspiring for all others to see and follow.  Of particular mention: Mr Ramparsad Gurung, Mr Narayan Gurung, Mr Santosh Gurung, Mr Bhimbahadur Gurung, Mr Sunil Gurung and youths involving Dipesh, Robin, Khusiman, Prakriti, Akriti and all those who have worked tirelessly behind the scene.  We are also full of admiration and praise to some of the ladies, who have worked extremely hard.

In view of the overwhelming support we are receiving from all corners, it is imperative that we carry this event forward as an annual gathering for many years to come.  The organising committee has therefore shown their commitment by already pencilling in  Saturday 11th of July 2009 as the date for next year.  The talk is already at the advanced stage, provided full support is received from everyone, to change next year's venue and format to make the gathering more entertaining, sociable and joyous for all to attend and enjoy.   Entertainments with music, karaoke, fun games, singing and dancing etc. could be added to make the gathering even more special.

"Bhasan" is only for politicians and therefore must be confined to the debating chambers in the House of Parliament, so they say over here in the United Kingdom.  Hence,

I would like to cut short my article and let the action do the talking, as popularly the saying goes "action speaks louder than the words".  On the same wavelength "pictures speak volume".  Hence, pictures below for all our hard working and law-abiding citizens to see and appreciate.
